WebAssign is committed to providing powerful education tools and content for all students, including students with disabilities.
Accessibility for students with visual impairments is particularly an issue with
science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) content, which traditionally uses
complex notation and figures. WebAssign has worked to provide
accessible representations of both notation and figures to screen readers. Students
entering math notation can use the same calculator
notation that is read by
the screen reader without worrying about the visual representation of the math.
Students can use their keyboards to navigate the WebAssign application and complete activities.
Accessibility Support
Contact the Disability Support Services Office (DSSO) at your institution if you experience a barrier engaging with a WebAssign course using a screen reader or other assistive technology, or if MathML format is not available in your course. The Cengage Accessibility Team will work with the DSSO to help address the barrier.
WebAssign can help you select or create accessible content for your class. Email accessibility@cengage.com with your request.
