Elementary Technical Mathematics, 12th Edition, published by Cengage Learning, helps students with minimal math background successfully prepare for technical, trade, allied health or tech prep programs. Author Dale Ewen focuses on fundamental concepts in basic arithmetic: the metric system and measurement, algebra, geometry, trigonometry and statistics. Thousands of examples, exercises and applications cover such fields as industrial and construction trades, electronics, agriculture/horticulture, allied health, CAD/drafting, HVAC, welding, auto/diesel service, aviation, natural resources, culinary arts and business/personal finance—to engage students and provide them with the math background they need to succeed in future courses and careers.

Question 1 demonstrates the ability to grade short-answer responses using pulldown menus.

Question 2 makes use of a graphic and a table-style answering format.

Question 3 demonstrates the use of multiple-choice grading.

Question 4 features a link to a conversion table found in the textbook so that students have easy access to it while completing the assignment.

Question 5 is an example of an application style problem.

Question 6 demonstrates the ability to display randomized values in a format the replicates the textbook's style.

Question 7 features a graphic with randomized values.

Question 8 makes use of a table with randomized values. This demo assignment allows many submissions and allows you to try another version of the same question for practice wherever the problem has randomized values.
