WebAssign is proud to support the open-source teaching community through our partnership with OpenStax. PreAlgebra from OpenStax is designed for a one-semester course and serves as a bridge between arithmetic and algebra. The philosophy of this book is to strengthen students’ arithmetic skills and introduce the fundamental concepts and vocabulary of algebra in a nurturing, non-threatening environment while addressing the needs of students with diverse backgrounds and learning styles. The WebAssign online question content for this title is enriched with student learning resources such as an eBook, student feedback, videos, and step-by-step tutorials, and is offered as a low-cost option.

Question 1 shows an introduction to place value notation that requires the students to find the value modeled by base-10 blocks. The model is randomly generated so students receive different randomizations.

Question 2 requires the student to fill in empty cells of a basic addition chart for the numbers 0 through 9.

Question 3 has a randomized image of a triangle so students receive different questions, requiring students to find the perimeters of different size triangles.

Question 5 grades the equivalent translated expression of the phrase and then asks students to simplify the expression.

Question 6 is an application question requiring students to use inequality symbols to compare the heights of various NBA players from the 2014 NBA playoffs.

Question 7 enforces equivalent equations based on the phrase to be translated.

Question 8 grades the list of multiples of the given number, in any order entered by students.

Question 9 uses the WebAssign NumberLine tool to plot numbers on the number line.

Question 10 features the WebAssign graphing tool to graph a pair of equations in the same rectangular coordinate system.
