Thermodynamics Lecture Demonstrations is a collection of ten simulations that demonstrate major thermodynamic cycles and concepts, including isochoric, adiabatic, and isothermal processes; the Carnot cycle; the two- and four-cycle Otto engine; and the diesel engine. Each simulation deals with a single concept, and the graphical displays make the relationship between volume, pressure, temperature, and entropy clear and easy to understand.

The demo screens are uncluttered and free of explanatory text. This enables you to select and emphasize the points you think are important. There is no predetermined outline, so you can follow your own lecture format at your own pace. Only nine keys are required to run the demonstrations, and you never need to enter any numerical data, so you can concentrate fully on your lecture - and your students. 42 pp.

Your computer system and hardware configuration should be an IBM PC, XT, AT, or PS/2 computer with the following features:

  • EGA (with 256K of video RAM) or VGA graphics
