A learning environment for exploring, solving and creating DC Circuits.

DC Circuits offers a comprehensive set of more than 70 tasks and activities. The activities are based on research findings that address common difficulties students encounter in understanding and applying the basic concepts of electricity. The software enables users to adapt the program environment to the precise level and needs of students.

Create and control dc circuits using voltage sources, resistors, variable resistors, bulbs, switches, diodes, and fuses. Define the name of the component and its properties. Several circuits are displayed on-screen simultaneously, enabling users to analyze and compare different situations at the same time.

The Author mode presents a full interface for editing and creating new tasks. Task presentation includes circuits, text items, and interactive tables which can be adapted to specific goals by disabling menu items, hiding components, and selectively restricting the editing options for each component.

A Teacher's Guide presents various uses for the software and outlines design of tasks and activities for optimizing use of the software. In addition, it provides valuable information about integrating DC Circuits into instruction and learning for home and classroom use, as well as lab work. 52 pp
