Just Released: "Practice Another Version"

We have just released a much-requested feature; the ability to let students try another randomization of the same question for practice -- either while working on the assignment, or after the due date for review.

In the Assignment Editor, you'll now notice 2 new rows in the Feedback area.

To allow your students to access other versions of any randomized question immediately, just check the box as in the picture above. If you don't want them to be able to access the Practice feature until after the due date, check the box in the second column. (Note that the Practice button will not be made available for questions without any randomization.)

There is a secondary option to this as well; some people have requested that this Practice button only appear to the student when they've used up all their submissions on a particular question (or gotten the question correct). Checking the next box in the left column does exactly this. The "or correct" option accounts for the fact that the student would have no other way to practice the question further if they got it correct before using up their submissions.

If you decide you would like to use one of these new settings for all of your assignments, be sure to check the "Save these Administration Settings as my default" box before you save the assignment.

Once you've turned this feature on, your students will see a new button labeled "Practice Another Version" next to the "Save Work" button on their assignments for each randomized question, as shown below. Clicking this button pops up a window with a new randomization of the same question, which students can work for practice as often as they like. They do not get credit for work done in this "Practice" popup; it is strictly for their benefit.

As always, we welcome your feedback on this new feature!
