We are happy to announce that a bug in using Different Every Time
randomization for assignments has been fixed.
Before today, if you delivered your assignments different every time to
your students, viewing their responses was only meaningful for their
last response. When All Responses were viewed, the questions contained
incorrect randomizations.
This has been fixed. Viewing all responses now shows an accurate picture
of the question as it looked to the student each time they submitted it.
Please let us know if you see any problems.
Another bug that was fixed with Different Every Time was the way the
randomization seeds were created. In some cases, the randomized values
in the questions on each version of the assignment did not appear to be
random. This occurred when the questions on the assignment had a similar
structure.
Please note: The Different Every Time method of delivering assignments
should only be used with Require Submission of Entire Assignment. It
does not work with the submission of single questions. We apologize for
not making this restriction apparent in the interface.
Please let us know if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions!
