Convenience

WebAssign is a fully-hosted, web-based service with no software to install, servers to manage, or databases to maintain. If you can browse the web, you can use WebAssign!

Our system is available all day, every day, worldwide from any computer with Internet access. Both instructors and students can work when they want to — creating/completing assignments, checking grades, and participating in forums. WebAssign works in real time, so everything you do is instantly and automatically reflected on the server. No waiting for updates or refreshes: your information is completely current all the time.

Reliability

We monitor WebAssign constantly and work diligently to restore access in the rare event of a problem. Over the last several years, unexpected outages have occurred only a few times, and they have averaged much less than twenty minutes each.

In the unlikely event of a problem with WebAssign, the login page will display a message indicating that we are experiencing technical difficulties. Instructors will be notified about the outage as soon as service is restored.

Security

At WebAssign, we take security very seriously and are committed to protecting the privacy of student records in accordance with all U.S. laws. Student records are password protected and intended for use only by the student and the course instructor(s). Our staff does not share records with anyone unless required to by law.

We understand that homework, quiz, and test grades are sensitive. WebAssign has many levels of security and safeguards in place to keep class records safe from tampering or unauthorized viewing. We conform to standards for secure online systems, using the same techniques that banks and financial institutions use to keep online financial information safe.
